We're back in 70 degree weather in sunny Texas. Yesterday was our official day back to work. I was anxious to start working again, getting the brain to function again, and to see what some clients progress was from when I left. After work we went to the gym, worked out some kinks and created some new ones. We stopped by the grocery store on the way home and stocked up on all the neccesities that were either gone or spoiled by the time we got back to them. I'm looking forward to the weekend to have a mini vacation after the vacation.
It's so dry hot and windy here that there are fires popping up all around. There's a ban on outdoor grilling or fires. I hope we get some rain soon.

So, for the last few days I've had ALL the dogs at my house. That's two large golden retrievers and a smaller (although distinctly medium sized) Mabel.
First of all, that's way too much dog for our house. We have 1400 square feet. That's 220 lbs of dog in 1400 square feet. I think that's too much. I think there should be a 10 sqft of house / 1 lbs of dog ratio.
Secondly, these dogs are nutty. They look to me for everything, which is odd. They come to me for food and water, no big deal, that makes sense...but with two other dogs in the house, Mabel comes to me for play. Lucy comes to me because she is a little wierd, and Bobby came to me for play twice during this visit as well.
It's actually a little funny to watch Bob get upset with Mabel for jumping in on his play time. It's very strange. He'd totally rather play with Me than Mabel.
So, I am senior camp counsellor. At Camp Puppy Dog.

So tomorrow we all make the long journey home, a ten hour flight is rather long. Anyway, I just wanted to let people know that we have to be at AUR by 8am and that my flight is US3 at 11:30 (Rome time) and that we land at 3:30 est. Then I will be going through customs and take the 2.5 hour drive home to eat some American dinner, and I swear that if mom and dad even think about making pasta for dinner I might throw up. So I will see you all very soon!!!

So last night was the last soccer game of the year. And sadly we lost, to the other American university in Rome, John Cabbot. Anyway, Kevin dressed up like Santa because his roommate Jason, who was on the team, wanted him to. So there we are discussing the Santa thing a couple of weeks ago and I brought up all of the bs that would come with this action, aka girls wanting to "sit on Santa's lap" and "hey Santa, what are you going to put in my stocking?" comments.
And while I do believe that is all that needs to be said. I will just add that I had written this long drawn out text about how upset I got and how stupid I acted in return but I won't because it doesn't matter. Anyway, it is all fun and games until somebody gets hurt.

In an effort to get that guys face of the blog because his teeth frighten me, I'm going to post on the blog.
Saturday night we had a wine tasting gathering at the house. It went really well and we all walked away alittle tipsy and with at least 2 new wines that we never tried that we'd buy again. On a home decor note, I think I get better and better about getting things ready for people coming over. The house was cozy and inviting. The food was tasty but easy. I think I did a good job. We really like having people come over.
Last night Jon gave me a Christmas present early! I got a iPod Shuffle. Just my size, its little, fun to use and great for the gym. I had a great workout last night. I stayed on the eliptical for 35 minutes and trucked it the whole time. It was exellently coreographed too. Just as my 30 minutes were up Welcome to the Jungle came on and the song empowered me to stay on there longer and harder...then my favorite christmas song, Jingle Bells by Barbara Streisand came on and heck...I just kept goin! Then I did some arms and stomach...then listened to a great song while I stretched. Just as the song was done, I was finished my stretches and Jon was heading to the front of the gym because he was done his workout too. It was great. I love my new gift.

So, I got myself a christmas present last friday. Actually, I didn't. Best Buy did. You see, when I bought my iPod 14 months ago I bought a replacement plan as well, which is good until next October.
Well, the other day my iPod started freaking out on me (click wheel and other controls stopped responding, etc), so I excersized my replacement option, and they replaced it with a brand new 30 GB iPod w/Video play back.
So, I immediately started messing with the video thing, loading episodes of Sportsnight from the various DVDs I have, and downloading video from the web (like behind the scenes stuff from Clerks 2: The Passion of the Clerks). It's really cool. Yesterday I went to the gym and, it being a Sunday, the meatheads were watching football. I watched TV on my iPod instead. I just set it in the drink holder and let it amuse me while I kicked my own ass on the eliptical.
Actually, for the real hardcore ass-kicking I switched it over to the music and rocked out to Guns N' Roses, Fat Boy Slim, and Steppenwolf.

So today is my film final and I also get back my paper and it is nice to know that I worked hard on that paper but even if I only got a 60% on it I can still get a 45% on this exam and walk away with a C from this course. And while I do take pride in my work, which is why I have been studying since Thursday for this exam (the offical last day of classes) I must state that I am not too worried about it. It also nice to know that I only needed a 44% on my Modes of Drama final, and I'm certain that I did better than that. It just nice to know that finals aren't that scary, well atleast when all you need is a C to get the class to transfer back. Anyway, I will see you all soon.
By the way...mom I'm sorry the phone card cut out on you but atleast I used it all up. And I will be wearing my new brown suit home, I should look spiffy. ![]()

My turn to have a stay at home day......I cleaned......I hate cleaning on the weekends, but a day off is like incentive to get to projects that you've been ignoring. The ceilings have been dusted, the lights are in the windows and I wrapped my first two gifts.
Jocelyn, Nicole gets here on Saturday night....we're looking forward to having you whenever you get here. She can probably come pick you up.
Jon, it is time to put together the schedule.......
Shepherdstown?
Friends over?
Aunt Anne and Uncle Bill are having people over for a sing along on Tuesday night. We told them that we didn't know what the plan was for that day/evening.

So finals start today. I have my Modes of Drama final, of which there will be an essay and a question section. I'm not really worried about the essay but within the questions section there will be quotes that we have to state which play they are from and who said and why they said it, blah, blah, blah. Then tomorrow I will be having Itineraries, which will consist of one essay (but there will be options, so again not really worried). I also have sketchbook tomorrow directly following Itineraries but that is just a 15 minute review of what we've done all semester and weither or not I've shown progress and quite frankly I don't really care. I know that sounds terrible but I've gotten to the point where I'm drawing pretty consistently until I'm having a bad day or don't want to draw what they assignment is and then they are bad. Anyway, that puts us to film on monday and imperial Roman art/architecture on wed. After that all that I have to do is pack. And I will be seeing you all very soon. ![]()

I was sent home today early due to the winter storm advisory wich is issued until tomorrow morning. Once Keith's classes were cancelled and the RE/MAX office closed (because the front steps had iced over) Mom gave me the heeve hoe. (Jon, if mispelled feel free to fix it) Mom, the boss, sent me home with cookies to make for her. That's my job for the day. It's terrific. I'm listening to Christmas music and baking a gazillion cookies while it is very cold and icy out. We may get snow later this afternoon! There's ice cicles hanging off the patio table and my containers of plants are safetly tucked away in the green house. I had a momentary lapse of future plans and told Jon I want to stay at home and bake and cook for him full time. 5 minutes later and 10 more cookies shaped into 1 inch balls I reconsidered. This day is special because it doesn't happen often and I like it that way.

so as of today I have exactly 10 days left here in Rome. And while I do have a good amount of work left to do within those 10 days I am pretty much finished with my personal to do list. yesterday the girls and I went for our shopping trip down Corso and I got some cool tights, I know it sounds weird but they are unique. Then we met some of the guys for American food at the Hard Rock in Rome. I think that those were the best nachos and cheeseburger that I ever had, don't worry mom I split them both with Kevin, as well as some dessert. Now all I have left to do is see the inside of the Coloseum, which might sound silly, but we were at the workshop the week that our class went so ... I sitll need to do that. But once the coloseum is done then I can come home. So I get in on the 17th and Jon gets there on the 20/21 and then it is Christmas and I hope you all like your gifts, as they are not returnable.

There's a change of plans for the Christmas schedule. I will be arriving early to attend my aunts memorial service, Jon will be arriving at the original date. I'll be staying in Pikesville for the few days I am there early.
My Christmas list will be posted soon. The general idea, a wine club from wine.com, seed starting kit from Gardners supply, a few books listed on Amazons wish list and a cast iron enamel pot from target, some slippers, and maybe a gift certificate to sephora or aveda for the little girl in me. I do like work out clothes too.

So this morning, my roommates and I got up to go to the Richard Meier church, it is located on the outskirts of town so you have to take a whole bunch of buses to get there. Well we left at 8:30ish to get there and around 10:45 we got on a bus to comback, as the church is only open from 10:30 till 12 to look at. And seeing as we weren't even half way there yet, and it was raining, we decided to head home. I feel that we made a good effort. Anyway, pictures will have to do. So we'll see what else we miss out on because of bad directions and poor planning. ![]()

This post will remain at the top of the blog until christmas, so I will keep it short. It's a list of links to people's wishlists. I strongly suggest that you all set up a wishlist on Amazon.com. To add your link to this list, e-mail it to me. You can send it to me straight from Amazon.
If you don't want to use Amazon, or they don't carry the thing you want, make a blog entry for it (include links where you can) and I'll add a link to it into this entry.
