Not that anyone asked, but I have been working on a cool project about risky drinking behaviour for The American College of Emergency Physicians and The National Highway Transportation Safety Administration. It's a web site and a brochure that accompanies a radio campaign on normative drinking behavour.
Anyway, the site is done (for the most part) and I have it up on a staging server if you'd like to check it out. http://sandruck.dyndns.org/~Jon/ACEP/2Much/index.html
That's it. That's what I did with my week last week.

We will arrive in DFW at 10:08pm on Fri. April 7 and leave Monday April 10 at 8:45 am. Looking forward to seeing all the decorating.
We decided to fly from Philly since all the flights to Dallas were layovers somewhere. This way Nicole can have a car to go to work on April 14.
Nicole, our flight gets back at 6:17 am on Saturday morning April 15.....sorry. We can work out the best way to handle this as we get closer.

So recently, since about Nov. I haven't been writing on here. Well not that I am back at school, instead of at Rome, I don't have as much time as I would like to dedicate to the blog. I have some good news though Kevin and I have been excepted to the Thesis program and we both have summer jobs in Philly. I am still waiting on the whole car thing as well as the computer cord thing. So I will let you all know what is going on with me when time is working with me instead of against me.

Okay, so apparently the Simpsons is doing a live-aciton intro this week, much like this one:
Although I do not think this is the real one, because I heard something about Ricky Gervais being in the real one, it still begs the question: Has The Simpsons jumped the shark? This is the first stunt that I am aware of. Is that the defacto instance of shark jumping? Or, can one pull the stunt off well enough to not lose any credibity?
Hmmmm.

Beans-the musical fruit that makes you toot. To me they've always been gross. I once avoided them like the plague. I'd pick through soup with beans, I'd be mildly dissapointed at restaraunts if my main meal was touching a pile of refrieds. I thought of beans as something that could be used as morter.
I acknowledged them as something that was good for me, and if I ever started to not eat as much meat (this idea of eating less meat was more realistic when I was single) I would have to find a way to consume beans. For this reason I did try them once a year.
Thank goodness for hummus. I love hummus. I described to Jon in much detail why I could eat hummus but not other bean dips. He then made a bean dip that would suit my tasta pallet and I LOVED it.
Just two weeks ago, sitting at an El Savadorian restaraunt, I perceived the bowl of bean dip as not gross, as something that was not a paste that could make a hut. I saw it in its true glory. For the good source of protein and fiber. For it's infused flavors that I enjoy, and for a great accompaniment to chips and salsa.
The last two nights we have embraced beans in our dinner. We had veggie soft taco things and last night a grilled chicken salad with bean dip--hmm hmm hmm. so good.
I look fondly into the future as my relationships with the legume family deepens. I hope to be over to overcome by objections to eating beans whole, not blended with spices, chilis and cheese. I also hope to expand my bean familiarity to something other mushed up black beans, pinto beans and garbanzo beans.

Guess who said mass on Sunday at St. Joe's.........Father Terri.....he is going to be here on weekends for the rest of the spring
We went to Andrea's play on Saturday night and stopped by to see Greg briefly.
He is studying hard for a microsoft certification. The place looked great. I love the red couches. They are a red on the blue side rather than a red on the orange side.
The play was Bye Bye Birdie. Andrea was one of the featured dancers. Not bad for a freshman in a sea of about 40 dancers. She had some cute parts and seemed to be enjoying herself. Do you remember when Nicole was in this play one summer? One of the big differences was the mixture of adults and kids playing the parts. In the Catonsville version it was sometimes hard to tell who was playing an adult character. They didn't do much aging make-up and depended on the clothing to identify them.
It was in the 80's here today.....but the temperature is supposed to plunge back to normal tomorrow. ![]()

Hey everybody! Look at this cool animation of how my paintball gun works! I know you're all tired of me trying to explain to you how this thing works...look at this! Not that you care, but now you can see why I think it's such a cool design. Look:
Huh? Huh? Cool, right? The blue things are paintballs. ![]()

I've been using the mask that Greg gave me for target practice because, well, unfortunately, they don't make that mask anymore, or lenses for it, and there was a safety recall on the lense that Greg never took advantage of, so I couldn't use it for much more.
Anyway. I fastened it to the back of a piece of plywood, along with a 3/4 inch x 12 inch piece of plastic pipe and some parts from an old hopper, to make myself a target range. So, after 2 months, the lense in the mask finally gave up the ghost.
To be fair, it cracked the very first time I shot it. A big chunk flew out about two weeks ago. Today, while I was doing check-in snap shooting drills I blew out a huge chunk, and then when I was practicing bunkering the whole left side came out. That's what's you see above.
So, anyway, I thought I'd share that with you all.

I found out when the wedding is. I'm putting it down in writing so I'll never forget again. Saturday, May 6th. We'll be coming up hopefully Thursday afternoon, I think the rehearsal dinner is set up for that Thursday.

Yesterday Apple made some smallish announcements, but I still think they are cool.
They announced an iPod powered boombox, which is basically a big speaker with a built in iPod cradle. That's not too exciting.
They also announced an Intel-Based Mac Mini, which I am only excited about because it is supposed to be fast. Four times faster than the current G4 based one. Damn.
So, Jocelyn, remember when I showed you that mini in the Apple store? The one where you were like "That's the whole computer? I could put that in my purse!" Well, it's fast enough to be a contender now. And, it's still cheap. And now it comes with FrontRow (the software that lets you use it as a media PC) and a remote. Badass.
