feeling: Good. Tasty coffee.

Okay, this is a tutorial post. In it, I will cover some basic HTML stuff, and some basic image manipulation stuff, and some basic Flickr stuff. So, if you want to know how to post pictures to the 'blog and manipulate them as masterfully as I do, read on. Okay, first things first, I am on a Mac. It looks different, but it doesn't work different, so shut up.
Secondly, this will contain a lot of screen grabs, which I will host on this site...so rest assured that all the techniques I will be using will work, because if they don't, you won't see them. ;-)

Okay, let's get started.

1) How to link to a image from Flickr:
This is really easy, but it does require that you have a smattering of HTML knowledge...or that you can copy and paste. wink

First, go to Flickr. (Actually, first you should start a greyMatter entry in a seperate window/browser.)
Second, find the image you want to use. Picture 1
Scroll to the bottom of that page, and find the "Copy and Paste" code. Picture 2Copy it. Paste it into your entry, like I am about to do. Picture 3

Then, edit the parameters. I take out the height, and change the width to 480. As you can see, the browser does a reasonable job of resizing it in proportion, without too much aliasing. (That's 'the jaggies' y'all.) Click on the images to view the code life-sized.

That's it. You're done! You've now included a picture from Flickr in your entry!
If you want to add a border, type "border=0" somewhere within the IMG tag. That means between the "".
